Welcome and Thank you for visiting the Telugu Association of Memphis website.
Telugu Mithrulaku Namaskaram!
As we start to celebrate another great year, I would like to Thank You for allowing me to serve as the president of the Telugu Association of Memphis for year 2020. In this endeavor I am joined by my committee members with whose support I am confident that we will be steadfast in providing a platform that can foster our heritage, culture and values.
Since its inception in 1981 with a mission statement to preserve the Samskrithi (Culture), Sahithyam (Literature) and Sampradayam (Tradition) among the Telugu speaking people of Memphis area, Telugu Association of Memphis has grown leaps and bounds as an organization. This year we would like to continue the trend and host with similar passion events such as Sankranthi Sambaralu, Ugadi Vedukalu, Vanabhojanalu, Dasara/Bathukamma and sports. I look forward to sharing news of these special events with you throughout the year.
I feel it is equally important to involve youth. We will develop programs and activities with youth, rather than for youth. In this kind of equal partnership, the young minds develop naturally, rewarding them with an experience that makes all they already do even more inspiring.
Another primary objective our committee would like to continue to emphasize this year is philanthropy and social well-being of people in the local community and back in India through the TAM Gives back Charity platform.
Last but not the least, a special word of mention about our sponsors and donors for their continued support. We are what we are today because of the valuable contributions of generous sponsors. I hope we will be able to provide them better access to community to promote their products and services.
The Trustees, Executive Committee and I look forward to this exciting journey in 2020 and we hope to see you all at our events.
President, TAM EC.
